Happy 4th America! To celebrate I’ve laid out some tracks for every type of music. Drink Up and remember that stone hard bitch who made our flag and the courageous men who fought for our independence.
Electro/House: Genairo Nevilla – Al “Liv” N (Original Mix)
I’ve been chirping his name since I saw him the night before Ultra in Miami. Porter Robinson knows how to throw a party. On tour with Skrillex and Zedd, Porter Robinson has been learning from one of the best. He is flawless and incorporates a fast pace change up in synth line after synth line. He has little to fear in the coming years and will soon be regarded as one of the larger names in dubstep music.

The French Duo, Mustard Pimp, will be releasing their new single ZHM via Dim Mak Records on the 5th of July. They released a preview today along with a couple remix samplers from yours truly, Dada Life, as well as Cyberpunkers. The single is edgy but will be keeping the party alive. Check out the singles as well as the remixes below!

Here’s a fresh new track by none other than bass sensation Pretty Lights. Live from Bonaroo X the new single features some changed up things including some lyrics, and a bigger dubstep feel to the repetoire. Check the track out and I’ll update you with the single when its out.

For those who were around to see it, earlier on in the TFN history books we gave an artist preview for the 15 days before Ultra. Well we’re back at it, and the next on the Festival list is EDC. Insomniac has blessed us with three loaded nights full of high energy and breathtaking experiences. The first stage I want to focus on for Friday’s show is the Bass Pod stage. More specifically, the time slots that fill up the 11-3 period.
Bass Pod-Friday Night
At 1130 pm the Bass Pod will experience a breathtaking set by none other than Israeli dubstep producer Borgore. With his release of his Delicious EP, all Bass Poders will be taking in some wobbly sounds as the release was an instant success. Some of my favorites from Borgore include the song itself Delicious as well as his remake of Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead.
Borgore – Delicious (Original Mix) [TFN Pick]
Borgore’s set will finish up somewhere in between 1230 and 1 but will kick off my EDC in the best of ways. From there the Bass Pod features Canadian sensation Excision. Excision aka Jeff Abel has just released an EP with Downlink entitled Existence. If you haven’t heard the EP, I highly recommend stepping up your game. Here’s my favorite two off the album Blue Steel and Existence (VIP).
Excision & Downlink – Existence VIP
Finally as the destruction of Excision starts to come to some sort of calming halt, UK duo Skream & Benga come to the stage. I don’t remember too much the last time I saw the two live, however I do remember that I was totally captivated by the music and lost all sense of what was going on around me. This is what happens when you get into the music, these guys are gonna kill it! Oh yeah I saw them at Ultra…

The homie from LA, Dillon Francis, is absolutely killin’ it. Moombahton: Are you in? I was slow to get on the Moombahton train and I’m still not fully on it. But I feel it. And I see it. I’m ready to ride it. Dillon Francis has been one of the biggest up and comers, and with the back up of Skrillex and other successful artists he’s about ready for the big stage. With the Moombahton movement just gaining steam, Dillon shows us some diversifying with adding a little bit of bass into it. Check out his new remix of Chase & Status Hitz. Once the released version comes out, i’ll hit you with that.

When asked, who is Pleasurekraft, the two men would answer Kaveh Soroush & Kalle Ronngardh’s baby (immaculately conceived of course). Pleasurekraft is a simultaneously visceral and cerebral experience induced only by the seductive, deep, groove heavy, underground techno inspired music that you hear the kids listening to .. – Common side effects include: unrelenting head bobbing giving way to complete surrender to physical movement commonly referred to as ‘dancing’.
In all honesty, I cannot get enough of their music and when I found this Spring Mix on their Soundcloud I was eager to put it up. They also just released a remix of Sneaky Sound System’s We Love. These guys will be in attendance at EDC on the Saturday, what an epic set it will be.

Two men of flexible style, Austin, TX based RUN DMT don’t let genre boundaries restrict their creations. Both Parson and Lemiwinks, the brains behinds RUN DMT, bring their veteran producer talents to a new arena, and are being extremely well received throughout the scene. With their tunes being rinsed by folks such as Bassnectar, 12th Planet, and Kill the Noise, and their newest release landing in the top 10 for dubstep on Beatport, these guys are on a fast track to be playing worldwide before you know it. And for damn good reason! Their ability to run a wide spectrum is one of their strongest points, as they dart effortlessly back and forth between epic bangers, multi-tempo sub-hop, and funky-bounce moombahcore, all the while delivering driven, tangible bass.

Weekend has just come through and what can be better than some new dance tunes from Tommy Trash, some deep dubstep from the always sensational Dodge & Fuski, and one of my favorite producers Hudson Mohawke puts out his new song Thunder Bay. Time to pick and choose. Tommy Trash, as his name suggests, just puts some filthy bass into his songs, if I were to pick a favorite though I’d have to say his Original Mix, All My Friends, is the biggest banger. Dodge and Fuski just play around like normal, adding huge dub over the Rudimental track. Hudson Mohawke puts out variety and if you havent heard some of his other things, i’d go quickly and download them while you can. All these songs bump. Have some fun tonight!

Let’s all keep it classy on Memorial Day, remember our troops, and celebrate how they would have liked us too. By drinking and dancing. New electronic everywhere this morning.
