EDC Vegas 2011: Friday Night Preview Pt.2 – Kinetic Field

The Kinetic Field is one of the most epic scenes you will see at any festival. Otherwise known as the Main Stage, the Kinetic Field on Friday Night will play host to some of the best DJs on the planet.  While I’m not in my dubstep zone and feel like dancing it out, I will be heading here. The night starts at 8 but getting there at 1045, you will be able to see Wolfgang Gartner kick off a glorious round of DJs.  Wolfgang hasn’t come out with too much new stuff as of late however he is always a great set to see.

From there we move to 11:30 where Dirty South is on.  No lying, I will probably miss the set even though I’ve heard some good things only because my boy Borgore will probably be tearing it up.  However, were on a non-commitment basis this week and I may just end up in the middle of the Kinetic Field.  Dirty South’s Big Song this year was their remix with of Diddy Dirty Money’s I’m Coming Home.

Diddy – Dirty Money – Coming Home (The Dirty South Remix)

The act is followed by none other than Tiesto himself.  The guy knows how to put on a show and there’s no doubt in my mind he will absolutely kill the 2 hr times slot he has.  His release of Club Life Vol.1  has been a huge success and has released a few tracks as of late, including Green Sky which will surely be a top dance song this month.  Here’s a remix I just picked up by Ken Loi of Tiesto and Kaskade’s Only You.

Tiesto & Kaskade – Only You (Ken Loi Remix)

Following this will not be an easy task, however when we’re talking about EDC we can;t assume anything.  Steve Angello will take the stage for the hour and a half following Tiesto.  Here’s a new single by Swedish House Mafia featured on the site a few weeks backNo Life Till Leather featuring Kate Madson.

New Tiesto: Tiesto Club Life Vol.1

After purchasing Tiesto’s Club Life Vol.1, I was brought straight back to that Ultra environment. His mastery of progressive has gone just too far for any other DJ to mimic.  His sound has become so apparent throughout the years. Listen to his new single with Marcel Woods “Don’t Ditch” and you’ll feel me. If you enjoy the music, support the man on Beatport! He also killed Lune’s “Girls With Bangs” with a remix that features some of his best sounds.

Dance Off – New Tiesto, Spencer & Hill, Dahlback, Shapeshifters

Yesterday some new Tiesto was released and for the most part it was extremely hard to find and not as good as I had hoped, but even Tiesto at mediocrity is better than most.  Shermanology and Shapeshifters also released a hit that I can promise Avicii will remix, or maybe has already while John Dahlback continues to develop into the bassline dance DJ.  All of these songs are awesome, check ’em.

The Shapeshifters ft. Shermanology – Waiting For You

Spencer & Hill – Beatrocka (Club Edit)

Escape Me

Nothing new to report this morning, but as you may have noticed I’ve been on Tiesto’s nuts lately. It may be because of that set, may be because his new stuff hit me in a way I didn’t think possible.  For the most part I’ve just been coming up on everything I like to listen to during the day, his stuff always puts me in that good mood. Check out his recent release “Escape Me” as well as the Avicii remix. Tiesto plays today in North Carolina, for all those North Carolinans out there, you guys rule…

Doing It Right

Lesson number one I take back from Ultra, always do it right. The scene was perfect.  Not like I ever did it wrong. Afrojack in his new single, “Doing it Right”, you sir are quite the talent.

Cafeteria Food: Top 10 Space Songs

After just watching Black Swan and No Strings Attached (I just got away with that), I finally reached the conclusion that there’s only one girl out there for me, Natalie Portman.  She blows away the definition of perfection. Almost like Ghandi meets Alba meets an In ‘N Out Burger and then all three of those meet up under the Eifel Tower to have the best sex ever.  And while I’ll confess I never integrated a single Star Wars episode into my childhood, mostly because I was not the nerd picked last for every basketball game on the playground, I’m going to go ahead and dedicate this post to the brilliance that Mr.Lucas had in picking Portman up at a young age.  Here’s my rendition of the new and improved Star Wars, labeled Space Wars.  A list of the top 10 songs about/related to space in the past year.  Here’s to you beautiful.
